HEADLINE: Mexican army general killed in air crash

A military plane crashed on takeoff Sunday, killing the brigadier general who
led the Mexican army infantry corps and three members of the air force, the
Defense Ministry said.
A brief ministry communique said Brig. Gen Luis Mario Vargas Amezcua, director
of the infantry, and the three airmen were killed in the crash near Mexico City.
It said the cause of the crash was not immediately known.
No additional details were immediately available.
